Child Advocacy

Child Advocacy by Valley AEYC

Valley AEYC believes that the role of early childhood educator includes speaking out for young children and their families. Therefore we are involved in child advocacy on the local, state, and national levels. We understand the importance of working together with other early childhood professionals to provide a strong voice in matters of child advocacy and public policy.

Local Child Advocacy

Valley AEYC has a Child Advocacy Liason whose responsibility is to be informed about current child advocacy and public policy activities at the local, state and national level. The Child Advocacy Liason reports to the Board and general membership as needed to keep the organization up-to-date with recent child advocacy and public policy matters.

Statewide Child Advocacy

Valley AEYC is an active member of Wisconsin Child Care and Education Coalition, a statewide child advocacy group. Individual Valley AEYC members also participate in Advocates in Action activities sponsored by the Wisconsin Association for the Education of Young Children (WECA). National Child Advocacy

Individual members of Valley AEYC are active in Children's Champions Action Center, a child advocacy group of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
